Shawn Testin is excited to join the Idaho Coalition of Land Trusts as Executive Director and will be based in Boise, Idaho. As a fourth generation Idahoan and lifelong outdoors enthusiast Shawn is dedicated to contributing to the future of responsible stewardship of land, waterways, nature, and wildlife via proactive and engaged efforts. He and his wife, Jamie, reside in Boise with their three children ages 6, 9, and 17. Out their backdoor are vast trail systems they access on an almost daily basis while interacting with and appreciating the nature and wildlife Idaho offers. They enjoy exploring the world around them and creating memories while connecting with the outdoors.
Shawn has served as an executive for successful non-profit and for-profit entities in the Boise region for the better part of the last decade in addition to working on grant foundation programming. This experience has provided expertise in organizational leadership, operations management, governance, mentorship, fiscal oversight, fundraising, awareness & engagement activities, and collaborative program development. His volunteer efforts include serving as a Parks & Recreation Commissioner for Meridian, Idaho and founding Trails for Tots, a youth education program centered on developing lifelong awareness & appreciation for trails, wildlife, nature, and open space.
Shawn maintains a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, a Master’s in Organizational Leadership, and is currently completing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Northwest Nazarene University. His combined educational and professional experience has established a focus in collaborative program leadership rooted in an appreciation for the individual and collective efforts it takes to establish meaningful impact. He looks forward to working alongside Idaho Coalition of Land Trust membership and advancing the mission of the organization.
